infinity scarf

i finished the scarf. as previously mentioned, it was knit in the round in seed stitch and is very long! i LOVE it. see below for the three ways to wrap it. i plan to make a few more of these for gifts.

...in the works

ah the diligence and patience it takes to knit larger projects....

i'm making an alternating color basket weave blanket (with border) for a baby boy. it's a relatively mindless pattern (requires only counts of four) but pulling from two balls at a time takes a bit longer. this yarn was given to me as a gift for christmas so i'm super psyched to gift it for baby david to snuggle in this cold weather.

but....of course i got bored of this and decided to get to work an an infinity scarf with some beautiful taupe yarn and new size 17 needles that "santa" (my brother) gave me for christmas. clearly my family is enabling my addiction. this one is seed stitch, which is also time consuming, but hopefully will be nice and cozy to wear soon.

grumpasaurus

this little guy just melts my heart! i can't seem to snap a good photo of him, so keep a look out for some updated photos soon.

he is called a grumpasaurus because he is supposed to cheer you up when you're in a bad mood. he is even more adorable in real life!

oink

just for fun....don't be deceived, this little guy took a lot of time.

headband with crochet flower

finally! i've learned how to crochet a flower!

these headbands were all the rage last season, so i decided to give it a whirl. with my newly purchased crochet hooks and a myriad of youtube videos, i think i mastered it. i also added a button on the back to secure the headband and to make it adjustable.

Fingerless Mittens

hello...

i've been on a fingerless mitten binge as of late. i haven't been using a pattern but go by length instead.

pattern:
cast on a multiple of four. (36 stitches on size 8 needles)
knit in rib stitch for the arm/wrist portion (k2, p2) for 4+ inches
switch to stockinette stitch for the palm portion (alternate k rows and p rows) for 2.5 inches
back in rib stitch (k2, p2) for 1 inch.
bind off in rib stich
sew up the side leaving a hole for the thumb!

these make great gifts and are super easy and quick to knit.

hi!

welcome to my blog...

i am a novice knitter addicted to yarn, needles, patterns, and most importantly, gifting handmade knits to friends and family. i like to keep my mind and hands busy, so i am constantly working on different projects to test my abilities (and more often my patience).

i am working on a hat now (below) but hope to finish a few gifts before the holiday that i will share here.
